Our story

Lucky Frog Gaming started the way most good game nights do: two people, one table, and a shelf that kept growing. Today that shelf is a 600+ game collection — and the game room built around it — in our Dallas home.

We make unboxings, playthroughs, and honest reviews of modern board games. Because we buy and back nearly everything we cover ourselves, our takes come with receipts: if a deluxe edition wasn't worth it, we'll say so, and if a little indie game punches above its weight, we'll shout about it.

Crowdfunding superfans

Joe has been backing board games on Kickstarter since 2013 and is a Kickstarter Superbacker with 264 projects backed — and these days Gamefound gets just as much of our attention. At any given moment we have dozens of campaigns in fulfillment (71 right now, worth roughly $19,800). We track every single one on our Backed by the Frog page — what's coming, what's landed, and what it cost.

Community first

Some of our favorite videos aren't about games at all — they're conversations with the people who make them. We regularly interview designers, publishers, and fellow creators to spotlight the voices behind modern board games.
